Barbara Pipan from KIS presented the ECOBREED results at the 19th Centre for Functional Genomics and Bio-Chips (CFGBC) Symposium, which took place on 6 June 2024 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana. CFGBC is a national platform in Slovenia that integrates the infrastructure for high-performance transcriptome and genome analyses. Dr Pipan’s presentation, entitled “Phenomics, Genetics, and Genomics in Plant Breeding“,” captivated the audience with insights from the ECOBREED project on buckwheat breeding. Her findings not only shed light on genetic progress, but also emphasised the potential for improvements in organic farming.
