ECOBREED at the 53 Annual Congress of the Italian Society of Agricultural Genetics

Prof. Mario A. Pagnotta, together with Prof. Carla Ceoloni and Drs Paola Forte and Ljiljana Kuzmanović from Tuscia University presented the first year ECOBREED results at the 53 Annual Congress of the Italian Society of Agricultural Genetics titled “Science and innovation for sustainable agriculture intensification: the contribution of plant genetics and breeding” (http://www.geneticagraria.it/congress_abstract.asp?a_pag=4&Indice=301&id=63) held in Naples from 10th to 13th September 2019.

The two posters presented reported the results on (i) the increasing durum wheat disease resistance, grain quality and yield under Mediterranean rainfed conditions by introgression from useful genes from its relatives (http://www.geneticagraria.it/attachment/SIGA_2019/6_10.pdf) and (ii) the evaluation, run jointly with the ECOBREED partners from BOKU-University and Hungarian Academy of Sciences, of 72 durum wheat lines under organic regime (http://www.geneticagraria.it/attachment/SIGA_2019/6_24.pdf).
