At the Nature-Health Fair (Narava Zdravje 2024) in Ljubljana, held from 10 to 13 October 2024, the ECOBREED project presented two new potato varieties, KIS Blegoš and KIS Tamar, developed at the experimental stations of KIS and which are specifically suited for organic farming.

KIS Blegoš is an early, yellow-fleshed, yellow-skinned multipurpose potato ideal for cooking, baking, frying, and crisping. It has excellent resistance to potato virus Y and a long dormancy period, allowing for storage until late spring.

KIS Tamar, a late variety with light yellow flesh and yellow skin, is known for its excellent cooking and baking qualities. It is resistant to potato virus Y, stress-tolerant, and can also be stored until late spring.
